Hempire Association of Ghana (HAG) Registered Farmers on a farm visit.

The Narcotics Control Commission Act, 2000 (Act 1019) seeks to provide a special provision on cannabis where cannabis, with the authorization of the Minister, can be cultivated for industrial and medicinal purposes. However, the law do not permit its recreational use.

The new law provides economic opportunities which means we must ensure that we are ready to meet the strenuous requirements that will inevitably be placed before us. If we are not careful we could find ourselves left out of the many business opportunities emanating from the law.

We must prepare ourselves very well to ensure we meet the criteria required to successfully apply for a license to cultivate, import, export, process cannabis and or manufacture cannabis products. You may even wish to establish a Cannabis Dispensary. This is why it is important to begin that process now and not wait as this may place expatriate competitors in an advantage leaving us at a disadvantage
