A New Dawn for Ghana’s Cannabis Economy

At the Hempire Association of Ghana, we remain committed to professionalism, ethics, and the application of cutting-edge scientific methods in all our operations. As one of the industry’s pioneering companies and a proud member of the Hempire Association of Ghana (HAG), we are driving initiatives that ensure Ghanaians have a seat at the table in this once-in-a-generation economic opportunity.

We warmly invite investors, farmers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and strategic partners to join us on this transformative journey. Together, we can build a thriving cannabis economy that works for Ghanaians, by Ghanaians empowering our people, strengthening industries, and redefining Ghana’s place in the global marketplace.

The industrial hemp sector, a vital pillar of the emerging cannabis economy, was officially initiated with the passage of the Narcotics Control Commission Act, 2000 (Act 1019). This groundbreaking legislation created the framework for the legal cultivation and processing of industrial hemp, a development with the potential to transform livelihoods, create jobs, and contribute significantly to national economic growth.

The Hempire Association of Ghana (HAG), the nation’s leading advocacy body for the cannabis and hemp sector, has been at the forefront of policy engagement, industry education, and stakeholder collaboration. Our mission is simple: to ensure Ghanaians are at the heart of this new green economy. Through constant dialogue with government, regulators, and private partners, the association is shaping a sustainable and inclusive future.

Despite hurdles over the years, the future of Ghana’s industrial hemp sector is bright and unstoppable. With the right policies in place, the cannabis industry is expected to take off in earnest by 2026, unlocking:

  • Massive job creation across farming, processing, research, and manufacturing

  • Export-driven growth, positioning Ghana as a global player in hemp-based products

  • Environmental benefits through sustainable land use and green innovation

  • Opportunities for Ghanaian entrepreneurs to lead in building local value chains

The industrial hemp revolution is here. Let us lead it, shape it, and own it.

We hope you will enjoy this website and that it will serve to introduce you to cannabis and enlighten you as to its vast and immeasurable benefits.

Long live HAG

Thank you.

Sincerely,

NANA KWAKU AGYEMANG

President of Hempire Association of Ghana (HAG)
