Welcome Message

It has been an arduous and at times treacherous journey in pursuit of the the Narcotics Control Commission Bill (1019) but finally we made it! It is true we have yet to finally conclude on our mission because we have only succeeded in securing half of what we really desired; which was the full legalization of Cannabis for medicinal and recreational use. But Aluta continues so we will be pursuing this agenda once we have concluded everything with regards Industrial Hemp.

We need to witness the fruits of our labor, the issuance of licenses for our very own Ghanaian farmers first and foremost so that they will make history in kicking off the Hemp-dustrial revolution, changing their future, fortunes and simultaneously contributing to the additional wealth creation of Ama Ghana!  It by all means will not be easy but with the able support of HAG we should all hit the mark!

One of HAG’s biggest challenge is the recognition of the fact that the vast majority of Ghanaians still do not understand the benefits of Cannabis as we have shrouded ourselves in the propaganda of the west and bound ourselves with our own now distorted cultural values that have made us nothing short of apprehensive in this regard.  It will take years to break these mental chains but that is no reason to stop hempducating everyone about its benefits as that is the only way forward.

We wish also to remind everyone that there are hundreds of prisoners languishing in prison for possession of small amounts of cannabis having received long prison sentences.  They have been forgotten by the system who have done nothing more to unwittingly perpetuate the racist and draconian laws of the west!   HAG has a responsibility to shake the system and remind the system that many of these cases must be reopened and more to the point these prisoners must be released.  We have launched a “Free Dem” campaign with a petition that we urge you all to sign.

We have arrived at the penultimate point in our campaign and now await the passing of the Legislative Instrument.  It may seem as if it is taking forever but I urge you all to remain steadfast and focused.  HAG will continue to engage our Law Makers, Government Statutory bodies and Civil Society Groups.  HAG will continue, where necessary to mobilize and ensure that we continue to build the capacity of everyone associated with HAG so have no fears.

The benefits and prospects in this emerging cannabis market in Ghana and Africa as a whole is very bright and positive.  Environmentally, Economically the benefits are second to none and health benefits from the safe use of cannabis will ensure that we have a more healthier nation in the years to come.

We hope you will enjoy this website and that it will serve to introduce you to cannabis and enlighten you as to its vast and immeasurable benefits.

Long live HAG

Thank you.

Sincerely,
