Government Needs To Release Prisoners Who Are Convicted Because Of Cannabis – Nana Kwaku Agyemang

It was just recently that the government of Ghana announced the decriminalization of the use of Cannabis for Industrial and Health purposes.

This news made a lot of waves on social media, especially when some Ghanaian celebrities hailed the President of Ghana for making that decision. The likes of Shatta Wale, Black Rasta, Samini and many others.

However, one man who has been on the toes of the Government with regards to cannabis is Nana Kwaku Agyemang, the Hemp Association of Ghana.

“The Government of Ghana should release those prisoners who have been convicted of possession of small amounts of cannabis for personal use. A lot of innocent people are languishing behind bars, families destroyed and the possibility of them become citizens and not spectators become lost! Free the prisoners and reintegrate them back into society” Nana Agyemang said this is in response to the Narcotics Control Commission Bill’s 2019 softly approach to convictions for small amounts of cannabis.

Nana added that cannabis is not a bad thing and using it for the right purposes can bring a lot of income to the nation. He urged all farmers out there who are willing to try cannabis farming to come to the Hemp Association and follow the required proceeding to earn good money after cultivation.
